I'm not from the US either. I live in Thailand and get USD from SuperRich in Bangkok for large amounts, or from any other money exchange booth for smaller amounts.

Some Americans or Canadians might be confused because these two countries do share this information, but I'm not aware of any other country that does.

They could catch up for a long time and had done so occasionally before. These tickets are different from legitimate ones. Basically, if it gets verified, the officer can see that it's a reservation for a ticket and not a fully valid ticket yet.

It’s been like this for a long time ~2014 if you try to live in Thailand on the wrong visa. I was once denied entry at the airport because obviously I wasn’t a tourist anymore, but I eventually got the proper visa and haven’t had an issue since.
