@Garry *******
My Thai g.f also needs to show a lot of information like banks statements for past months, last employment details if unemployed at the moment, lots of photos showing togetherness, Whatsapp conversations..etc etc

It's all best using a Agent as they know what to put in your Visa application..

I didn't have all the 15,000 Aud in the bank because far more than that over 15 years in the Australian Stock market..

Im waiting to see if the Australian Embassy will accept that as evidence..

Every day i get a update about my Share Portfolio, so my agent said send me a copy of that please..

I've still got a long way to go, so wish me luck.

@Peter *******
Im sponsoring my Thai g.f at the moment to Australia.

I've paid 6500 baht to a Immigration agent to handle all the paperwork..

Yes as her sponsoring partner you need to show 15,000 Aud in your bank account

As someone already mentioned before you must show that she has something to return to Thailand like a job, house, land, family group.

You have better have success if you just apply for a 3 month

Subclass 600 tourist stream to start with..

Was in Thailand last month and needed to extend my tourist visa by 12 days as would be a overstayer.

I went to a local immigration office with a official filled out application form from the Thailand Government website and a recent passport photo..

Now here is my point and why some Immigration offices just love loads of paper work and want to give you a bad day !!

They rejected my filled in application but couldn't give me a valid reason ..even the i had a valid passport recent photo..confirmation of a hotel booking ..return flight date and more than adequate funds..

They only approved my visa extension because i could show proof of my Thai girlfriends details after they phoned her !!.

I paid my 1900 baht (cash only) and told to come back later because they were all going for 1 hour lunch break..

I been there 4 hours not to mention the taxi driver took me to the wrong building..

Apart from raining most of the day and finding out the hotel taxi service costing 950 baht and my own taxi back 200 baht !!!

It's a long story i know but this could happen to YOU.

Like Clint Eastwood said out of the movie..

Go ahead and make my

DAY ..

I made appointment online but that didn't make any difference.

I just had to queue up with everyone else .

Go early but avoid Monday and Friday if you can

Be polite.

Good luck ..

Yes your visa exempt for 30 days as a Australian Passport holder.

If you're planning to extend your stay another 30 or so days it that can be done in Australia before you leave.

My recent experience maybe worth noting.

Dont waste you're time making a online appointment (it doesn't matter if you have a appointment or not.)

I had prepaid accommodation for the first few days the hotel should have given me a completed TM 30 form confirming that but failed to do so.

The Immigration officer just noted that. But her next questions were you need to supply contact name and address of someone privately in Thailand

Luckily I had my girlfriends details on me otherwise no entry

WTF ..

You pay your 1900 baht in cash only..no credit cards

Your given a number and when called go in show them you passport and completed form they weren't in return flight details but understand the airlines may !!

The Immigration office is on third floor it's in a huge building so give yourself plenty of time

The office closes at 12.00 for a 1 hour lunch break.

I was lucky i had a helpful officer if you get the wrong one you can be in for a long long bad day.

Let me sum up get your extension visa in Australia far less stuffing around.

Good luck.

Happy Travelling
