I didn't think they would reply however they did after about two weeks.

I emailed the very same question to the Thai Embassy in Australia and received the below reply.

"You may enter Thailand with a one-way ticket; however, admission into the country is subject to the discretion of the Thai immigration officers."

Is Hotel Vista in Pattaya a good place to stay?

Nice rooms, nice pool and great location. However there is a nightclub on the southern side that thumps out music every single night until 4am. Drove me crazy...be sure to ask for a room on the northern side (same side as the entry)
