My chinese teacher said it took him 3 years. He even writes and understands some slangs. He's also learning Spanish so i guess language skill is a gift. Meanwhile i also know some other Chinese who've been here for nearly 20 years who can get by on a day-to-day convo. So it's different for each individual

Odd that the agent told you she's passed if there's no visa sticker inside. I'd check the last page to see if there is a note. Mine was a small hand-written note. I was rejected due to applying a wrong type of visa or something but that came with a letter. That was 20yrs ago

Or did she ask that the passport be returned to here while waiting for the decision? With a fee the visa centre allow the applicants to keep the passport. I heard of it but haven't tried.

I tried Grab, lineman and robinhood for my parents last month at 3am from nonthaburi to don muang airport. Grab was the only app that had a driver albeit pricey—double the fare

The official taxi stand is on the basement. They charge extra 50 and also 20 for each luggage. Or you can go 1 floor up to the departure floor, get out and hail a taxi there. They wont charge those extra but make sure to get them to charge you by meter and not on the negotiated fare. Or you can call grab but their fare is 30-50% higher than the metered taxi
