Thank you, yes i am from Germany and would get a free 30 day visa and as i understand it, it can be extended by 30 or 45 days once,but the covid extension cannot be applied to this kind of visa or exemption,so i hoped to get one in Penang

So im not sure what to make out of this. Is there anyone who did get a 30 day stamp recently without having had a visa? I just called a travel agency in ranong and they also say its 15 days..

Its because i found this in another forum in a recent post :"if the OP is French or a US citizen (as suggested by her profile) then she would normally get a 30 day exemption (as Dave says, this is not a visa, but a Visa Exemption (also known as a 'stamp')). But according to the article in the Samui times about the Ranong clampdown, people who were previously using a stamp/exemption who are reentering without a full visa will get a FIFTEEN day stamp. This is non standard, but it is what they say and they did go there explicitly to find out the specifics post"
