TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses uncertainty over the length of stay granted upon re-entry to Thailand through Ranong with a German passport. Responses indicate that typically, a traveler should receive 30 days, but there may be instances where only a 15-day stamp is given due to specific circumstances surrounding recent immigration practices. The discussion highlights the importance of understanding visa exemptions and the impact of prior visas on new entries.

okay whether you had or didn't have a 60 day tourist visa and a 30 day extension has NO bearing on the amount of days you'd be stamped in for holding a german passport when you enter the country..When you stamp out of the country that extension (and the earlier entry ont he tourist visa CANCEL). You're getting a brand new entry stamp..

No matter if you crossed in by land or flew in you'd get a 30 day visa exempt entry. <- Now remember you can only enter on a 30 day visa exempt entry stamp by land two times in a calendar year (Jan 1 - Dec 31).

So im not sure what to make out of this. Is there anyone who did get a 30 day stamp recently without having had a visa? I just called a travel agency in ranong and they also say its 15 days..

Its because i found this in another forum in a recent post :"if the OP is French or a US citizen (as suggested by her profile) then she would normally get a 30 day exemption (as Dave says, this is not a visa, but a Visa Exemption (also known as a 'stamp')). But according to the article in the Samui times about the Ranong clampdown, people who were previously using a stamp/exemption who are reentering without a full visa will get a FIFTEEN day stamp. This is non standard, but it is what they say and they did go there explicitly to find out the specifics post"

that article is almost certainly referencing an old rule that at land borders you only got 15 days. That rule stopped as of December 2016.
