There are reports from people stamped for 30 days going to the airport and having their stamps changed to a year. Apparently this started after a meeting on the 7th when everything changed. Nobody has been refused since then with an OA visa issued before 31 oct with no insurance. Good news.

Try to read between the lines here. It should be OK, and may even be OK, but if the IO is having a bad day, even if you have the TV, you could be denied. It is happening occasionally and you may be unlucky.

As everyone will tell you, there is no guarantee. If you fail with the 3rd TV, you would be OK with an exempt land crossing for 30 days and extend.

You should be able to do 1 TV from home and extend. Then 1 TV in another country and extend. You may get a third, but that is where you also may get stuck.

If you want to play it safe, buy a cheap ticket to a neighboring country. If you have not stayed in Thailand for any length of time previously, you should not really need an onward ticket.

Just do your homework and vet the school to make sure that they are legit with the docs they provide. Ask questions as you go. Always better to be safe than sorry. Also good to post your experience to help others. Good luck mate.

I believe you will be able to extend by 30 days. In the meantime, find a school that you want to study at and they should be able to give you the documentation to apply for the visa in a neighboring country.
