I’m one of those idiots. Bangkok bank would be the first place to require it.

A few months ago, friend’s wife was denied a US tourist visa after 8 years of marriage and a US citizen child.

I’d like to take my wife to visit the US, so I’m doing an immigration visa. The USCIS website said 16 months to process.

Instead of just spending a few weeks, we will probably do enough time in America for her citizenship. Then come back to Thailand.

The US visa policy is insanity.

If all of Bangkok bank is a problem, they should.

Those that meet the requirements but the bank refuses to document, that should not be a reason to deny a visa.

My guess is that a whole life insurance policy would need to be reported once the value reaches $50,000.

A 90 day report was due, when I was hospitalized. My wife called immigration, then took my passport to immigration. They understood the situation.

A renewal might be different.

Only Bangkok bank has a US routing number. The other banks use a SWIFT code. On MyPay the last time I checked, the interface was routing number and account number.

If you don’t already have a Bangkok Bank account, then when setting up the account don’t tell them that the account will be used for a government direct deposit. The bank will shut down electronic features and require you to get money in person.
