re OA - surely it expires if you leave without a re-entry permit ?

We‘re going back 15 years , they couldn’t find my Esta and almost got bumped, a phone call or two sorted it

The airline has a responsibility to check, depends on destination and type of ticket, they have a flag on their system - otherwise they are responsible for covering cost of return if entry is refused - I also used to travel extensively and got challenged numerous times especially going to Australia…… being refused boarding is not pleasant

facts ? the fact is is if we are resident (in Thailand for +180 days) we are obliged to register for tax and submit a return - to suggest that it will just go away is not great advice IMHO i have learned not to f##k with the tax man, and that comes from living in 9 different countries why would I treat Thailand differently ?

Don’t plan on waiting to find out - personal choice, but not really responsible to encourage people to ignore it - herd mentality

Dangerous assumption……..not an issue for those without commitments here they can jump on the next plane, not so easy for others, property owners and those with families - seek good advice, which doesn’t come in a bar

visa renewal - they can require a tax clearance cert - I couldn’t get my money out of South Africa as a non resident without it…….and tax does not go away

But can I apply for Non -O retirement after arriving on a visa exempt ? I have all the requirements in place, been living here on an O-A for 6 years, but screwed up bank requirements (fell below 800k for a day) and I refuse to pay agent to fix……

Been looking since Weds and all very vague and I am running out of runway….

that bits clear, my wife is singaporean and did it many years ago - but still unclear, whether as a brit I can get a Non O visa there and what is required apart from proof of funds - before I fly there i am looking for feedback on recent experiences…..otherwise I have to go back to UK where process is clear….. far from ideal with dogs and a wife to worry about as I have to leave before Thurs, my non O-A has gone tits up……
