Thanks Robert. Just been in touch with someone who knows the score and that's what I'm going to do. 400K in the bank and should be good to go. I wasnt sure if I could use this way of staying here as i have to go in and out of Thailand for work but apparently if i get a re-entry permit i can do just that. Or so i am told. Fingers crossed I'll find out in August when i try it.

thanks. I have always got that Visa from the UK but it looks like it's gone now maybe Savannakhet is an option. Can I ask what HCMC is please?

Mikkel Kruse thank you for that info. I do not have the funds as I just paid my thai mortgage off. But I will be 50 in a few months and should be able to have 0 in the bank by then. The only problem is I have to go overseas regularly on business and I dont know if I can leave the country regularly if I am on an extension of stay based on marriage or of I have to report to immigration every 90 days regardless. I have to do more research. Thanks.
