because of corvid the visa runs were cancelled they were replaced with as you said extensions if stay but under normal times a requirement of a o visa is in out visa run .

No chance your first 2 weeks in isolation will cost you 2000$ so only 2 weeks in Bangkok not worth it mate save your money for when the travel restrictions are lifted.
