Todd is correct..I used to have a Cat M but I moved to a different extension years ago to get out from under the governments thumb.
You will first need to be employed by a media agency that is registered with the MFA and recognized and in good standing with the PRD.
I haven't seen many new Visas issued of late.. but those that are already here on extensions have been able to get new extensions provided they meet all the requirements and produce the documents.
could the poster take the family extension for 60 days...then get the 1 year extension after...this would move the next years extension forward by 60 days.
yup... Like most interactions with immigration, it's totally doable by ones self...I just personally find the ฿400k method easier and less time consuming since I don't have a big staff or in house accountant.
My personal experience, having tried the income method a couple of times in the beginning... was that is was just a whole lot simpler and faster to park the 400k (in my case $13k is a USD acct) and let it sit gaining interest.
There is alot more paperwork required for the income method that requires a lot more leg work to collect from a lot more sources.
In addition to the correct answer from Lloyd, I will recommend the Thai citizenship group as well.
There are many users that are in the process there and share their knowledge on the PR/Citizenship process. It has been a helpful source of information for my citizenship application.😊
