TLDR : Answer Summary
The acceptance of THB 800,000 in a foreign currency account for visa applications like the Non-O Thai Wife extension seems to vary by local immigration offices in Thailand. Some users reported successful acceptance of such funds, but it's recommended to check directly with your local immigration office due to differing requirements. Additionally, it's important to have the funds in the account for at least two months before the application date and to be cautious of exchange rates.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
Explore recent discussions by using the Non-O Retirement Visa tag in the search box at the top of the page.
You ask about the 800.000 Thb but refer on Extension of Stay based on marriage which is 400.000 Thb in a bank.
As the more than 70 Immigration Offices in the country has slightly different views on the rules, best option is to confirm with them if a foreign currency is allowed.
But go on time as the money has to be 2 months prior application date into the Thai bank account.

They accept my Foreign Currency Account for the Non-O Thai Wife extension. So I would assume they will for retirement extension.
Be cautious of the exchange rate though.
And, for me, I could only get the bank Letter dated the same as my application day at the main branch of BKK Bank, which was a bit of a pain.
