I'm hoping to get some help clarifying if I meet the requirement for Thailand Permanent Residency applications. Hopefully this is still the right place to ask.
According to the website, this is one of the criteria:
"1.1 holds a passport of his/her current nationality, which was granted a NON-IMMIGRANT VISA and has been permitted to stay in the
Kingdom of Thailand on the basis of one year visa extension for the total of at least 3 consecutive years up to the application
submission date."
I have a non-immigrant B visa for work, which was issued in 2019. This year it was updated to be extended until 2023.
Does this mean that I now meet the criteria specified?
Also, if I happen to leave the country for travel and come back, would it impact this timeline and would I have to start over? Thanks for any insight/help.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring whether they fulfill the requirements for applying for Thailand Permanent Residency, specifically about holding a non-immigrant B visa that has been extended for three consecutive years. Comments clarify that they will indeed meet the criteria in 2022, as their visa has been extended from 2019 through 2023. Additionally, it is noted that leaving the country for travel will not negatively impact the residency timeline as long as they obtain a re-entry permit.
