I did! They know I’m on an E-Visa (METV), and originally they said same-day returns were fine for DTV and E-visa holders.

But now they’re basically saying I might have to stay two nights in Laos despite having an E-Visa.

Just trying to see how things have been in the past couple of days.

Right, that’s why I was surprised. They know I’m on an E-Visa (METV), and originally they said same-day returns were fine for DTV and E-visa holders.

Just trying to get a sense of how things have been in the past couple of days.

I don’t have a tourist exempt stamp to compare it to, but you should receive a stamp for 60 days. Here is the stamp I received when I arrived with my METV.

Thanks so much everyone! I went through the process of bringing her here from the US, which honestly wasn’t too bad — just pricey. But from what I’m hearing, trying to do it again from Thailand to another country doesn’t really sound worth the hassle.

I may just need to look into a sitter or boarding hotel instead. If anyone has recommendations, I’d love to hear them!

I’ve never left her behind or with strangers before, so I’ll admit it makes me a little nervous (and sad). But I’ll digress — sounds like it may be the best option.

Thanks again for all the insight!

Thank you all for the tips! A little embarrassed to admit it, but it turned out to be my card 😅. My bank was declining the charge as suspicious, but I’ve always been notified when that happens, for some reason I wasn’t this time.

I emailed the Los Angeles Thai Consulate to explain, and they actually approved and sent my visa within minutes because of the inconvenience. So I guess it all worked out in the end!
