that is a terrible way to travel, not knowing if your visa is aproved or not. Much better to use a different Thai consulate that can process app much faster.

and others. You seem to have Western passports. Another option is to fly into Malaysia (Penang) and obtain your Thai Visa that way. Then hop to Thailand.

This works for Single Entry Tourist Visa and certain non-imm single/multiple categories (mainly non-o/non-b).

METV you must apply in home country or country where you can prove residence.

If you are burning through cancelled air tickets, hotels, and other headaches with local consulates, maybe 2-4 extra nights in Penang might not sound so bad.

depends on the passport country. Looking at around ฿40-55k for the first year.

You can always reach out to them; they are quite friendly.

If TVC as already advised you, then i think you already have the best info. Have your partner do some traveling to use up the 2-3 months. Or get a tourist visa at the appropriate consulate, which will give you 60-90 days, then switch to the Non-B 1 year extension or whatever TVC offers.

actually, even Thai Embassies and consulates have quotas... But they rarely hit those now.

The local Thai immigrations offices in Chiang Mai and others used to have daily queues to apply for extensions. Perhaps that has changed now 🤷🏾‍♂️

[cont] -> us embassies for most services, you must make appointment through the appointment channel on embassy website. If they dont have anything available soon, you can make initial appointment. Then forward that appointment email to them and politely request earlier date. Say that you are traveling imminently.

If they dont respond to that email within 24 business hours, call the contact number for the bangkok embassy and follow up there.

The us embassy security checkpoint has a list of who has appointment that day. Only those people and their approved guests will be allowed to enter. Dont be that pereon who just shows up to the embassy without appointment and tries to get an exception (especially on a rainy day).

-> the emergency passport (temporary passport). The consular sometimes will ask if you will be travelling very soon and offer it. Emergency passport will be picked up the next day (never mailed).

Again, please dont overthink this. Follow the steps you've been given. Safe travels.

you may be over thinking this:

-> EMS return mail option is only while applying for passport while at the Embassy. The consular will ask you if you want to pick it up when new passport arrives or have it mailed back. If you request mailed, you will be directed to the ThaiPost downstairs. Tell them your nationality. They know what to give you (legal envelope and prepaid EMS postage w/insurance.....฿130 or so). You will fill out the return address and then go back upstairs and give that envelope to the consular along with finalizing your passport application. Unless you stay in bangkok, near the consulate I HIGHLY recommend using mailed option.

are there specific borders that do not allow non-ED multiple visa entry?

facebook marketplace (advertising 1st and 2nd hand physical goods that you can inspect) is much different than sponsored ads, which scammers use to instill trust. Take full advantage of cash on delivery.
