thankyou but they should realise modern banking Wise has many business customers, it’s property regulated in the uk.
Can’t see what Thai consulate would know, in any event it’s not proof of funds and no proof of income is stated in the DTV rules but of course they may not have been educated in these new ways of conducting business transactions, which have also nothing to do with Thailand, as you are 100% remote, not transacting any business in Thailand?
what further documentation did you need to submit, so others can learn from this. I heard you have to submit every page of your passport not just the biometric pic page?
Regarding the presentation did you provide any financial business bank accounts, do you know ..is a Wise business account acceptable?although I understand they don’t require proof of income, just what your remote business is about clients etc the proof of funds is not less than THB 500k in Thai account or equivalent sum in a foreign bank account, did you submit 6 months of bank statements or just current month showing THB 500k
Useful for those wanting to go down the extension route at their local immigration . You mentioned doing the 90 day reporting at the same time. I didn’t know you can do that in advance of the next 90 days? Also regarding the 90 day reporting is it free or a fee to pay?
dunno but savings accounts with a passbook have always been pretty easy but like everything in Thailand it’s hit and miss, one day no, next try branch down the road, all ok. Same with immigration you never quite know if you will sail straight through or get asked silly questions.
Main thing, don’t lose your cool, always be polite at all times.
Remember there is no Western Logic, only Thai logic, which I can tell you takes years to understand 🙈
try SCB in Bkk or K Bank, maybe a few branches say no, some might say yes, it’s Thailand, you never know for sure. Just look respectable and be polite and make a large deposit not just a token couple of k in bahts
No guarantees of success but don’t apply for a current account, just a savings account. Try and get to know the branch manager, they generally look up to foreigners in a respectful way. Just don’t turn up in a singlet, short and flip flops 🤦🏻♀️
