I enjoy living in Thailand now, but my thoughts and conditions may change over that long of time period. So I decided on the 5 year option. The 20 year option is much better cost wise.

I went with the 5 year / 500,000 baht plan. I went to their office in Bangkok to apply so I could ask questions.

You fill out the application wait a few weeks for a background check, then get an approval letter with instructions on how to make the payment, then you get a welcome letter after they verify payment.

I just received my welcome letter for The Elite Visa. Now I just have to make an appointment to have it placed in my passport.

From the time I applied for it until I got my welcome letter for the Elite Visa was only 31 days.

I think it is a great choice for a long term stay in Thailand.

I just applied for an Elite Visa 2 days ago. There is an office a couple miniutes walk from the sky train you can apply right there.

They need a copy of your passport, and one passport photo in addition to the application.

While I was there 2 people brought in their passport, and said they needed to do a 90 day report. They take your passport and do it for you.

I was there for my first 90 day report yesterday. I thought I saw you there but was not sure it was you.

You were wearing a black Kiss T-shirt and had a black ball cap on. You had several different passports in your hand.

I was wearing a grey polo shirt and had glasses on. I made eye contact with you but didn't say anything in case it wasn't you.

20,000 baht isn't much money for us Westerners. I wouldn't worry about "Obvious Security reasons" as nobody will know how much cash you are carrying.

If you are that worried about it carry multiple wallets or a money belt to hold your money.

They will stay until finished. I got there at 7:30 am and left at 6:30 pm when I did mine.

I had number 175 and got called about 17:30. Still had many more to go after me. I heard they stay later until finished.

I planned to go tomorrow morning to extend my ED Visa. Would it be better to go Monday, or get there very early Friday morning. Visa expires Oct. 2
