1. Check your passport. If you entered on a 30 day visa exempt, you would go to Muang Thong Thani. If you entered on a 60 day tourist visa, you will go to Changwattana.

2. You do not need an appointment, however if you want to make an appointment, read this post:

Most immigration offices are strict about the 2 months before, and 3 months after requirement for the 800K THB in banked money. I say most because there's 70+ immigration offices and I'm not familiar with all of them.

>f i am going to get a 60 day covid extension after arriving on a 30 day visa exempt, will i go to muang thong thani (immigration office)?

Yes you will. Expect to get a 30 day extension of stay based on tourism though.

Remind me, was this at Muang Thong Thani? And what's your passport nationality again?

If the hotel didn't do the TM30 for whatever reason, then there's nothing you can do 🙁

Here's what you can expect (Note: I'm assuming you're getting a 30 day extension of stay based on tourism or a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19):

1. Bangkok immigration is hit-or-miss with the TM30 requirements. Sometimes it's asked for, sometimes it isn't. If they don't ask for it, don't tell them you don't have it.

2. You *COULD* be fined 800 THB. If you are, you will be sent to Muang Thong Thani, Counter B, to pay the fine.

3. The immigration office will simply verbally tell you to return with the printout from the TM30.

I recommend showing the hotel what a TM30 looks like; they may not be familiar with the term "TM30". I'm attaching printouts of accepted TM30s. The middle and bottom image are accepted from the computer system.

You did not renew anything. Given what you are describing, it sounds like you got a:

One Year Extension of Stay based on Being Over 50/ "Retirement" from a Non-OA Visa.

The key word is "Extension of stay". You are *NOT* on a visa, and that visa expired a few years ago.

For a brief refresher about visas:

A Non-OA VISA is a multiple entry visa, acquired outside of Thailand, is valid for one year, and on each entry allows you to stay for a year.

A Non-O VISA is a single entry visa acquired outside of Thailand, is valid for 90 days, and on entry allows you to stay for 90 days.

An in-country Non-O Visa is a "ZERO ENTRY" visa acquired INSDIE Thailand, is valid for 90 days. It's "Zero Entry" because you acquired inside Thailand.

Depends on the immigration office. I would ask Muang Thong Thani Counter A (where the 90 day reports to processed) to confirm. after you get your ED visa.

> Muang Thong Thani immigration office. Is this the correct place to go?

Correct

>Am I missing anything else?

You will need the following documents to get a 30 day extension of stay based on tourism:

1. Your passport and:

a. a copy of your data ("picture") page

b. a copy of your most recent visa (if you have one)

c. a copy of your most recent stamp

d. a copy of your departure card

2. [MIGHT BE ASKED] A TM30, filed in the immigration office.

3. The forms (each immigration office may have different forms, and want to use their

4. 1x passport pictures

5. 1,900 THB.

You will NOT need:

> my vaccination card

Probably not.

>departure flight details

Proof of flight out is not a requirement for a 30 day extension of stay based on tourism.

> and proof of Covid insurance covering my extended stay

Proof of insurance is not a requirement for a 30 day extension of stay based on tourism.

You can apply for a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19. I have not heard of any Americans being rejected for their first 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19 yet. See my "Featured/Pinned" post
