Mainly depends on how you present it - as John said - follow the online instructions and put info together based on that. Assuming you're still in NZ why not apply there. I did similar through Australia and no problems.

You don't need to show income - you need to show 3 months bank account in your name with the correct funds.

Unlikely to be asked but just leave until you get through immigration and then transfer wherever you want

You can get 60 days on a normal tourist visa so would they grant a DTV for a one month course you don't need it.

Anyone else have this problem - I will be applying in Australia shortly and have two main bank accounts with different banks - one has 60% of required amount and balance in the other.

Is this likely to be a problem?

Anonymous participant my understanding was the cover attached to credit cards had a lot of limitations however from what I have found over the weekend as long as you tick all their boxes you should be ok - minimum spend, and have a returned flight booked - easy to book a flight and just make Flexi if you're not 100% sure if return date.

I went away from fancy cards and rewards a few years ago but I've just upgraded over the weekend - the $300 annual fee is nothing compared to the cost of buying long term travel insurance and/or expat medical cover

Hey - Heath - I did some checking and you're spot on - I spent 50 years in the insurance industry so always sceptical and very different to what's available in the normal travel insurance market - I even checked the trip duration with Covermore and they have confirmed up to 365 days. Did a lot of business with Covermore over they years and the maximum they normally give is 180 days so the ComBank Smart Credit card you have is great. Length of journey can differ depending on what card people have and which Bank - I checked a few other Banks and most Banks only give a maximum of 6 months.
