 It would be convenient to use the QR code system. Carrying cash all the time and the high withdrawal fees is annoying.

 Thanks! Unfortunately being trapped in Laos for 2+ weeks isn’t really an option for me so I suppose my only choice is to try and fly to HCM.

Did you book your appointment in at the embassy well in advance? I planned to go tomorrow but just found out they only accept prebooked appointments and have nothing available for 2 weeks.
