I think he said: he has to proof that he was in Thailand before for 6month.

But paying 6month upfront, is no requirement either.

There is nothing "strict" about asking extra stuff that is not required by the rules. E.g. having been in Thailand before for 180 days and proof of that.

Makes no sense.

He liked to chat with you.

Why should he not do his job and ask random persons random questions?

Who is "they"? The embassy? Or some random entity?

It was probably in a different group, but I saw it as well. Not sure, but I think I saw two posts from two different people at different locations in Thailand.

As far as I know you can register a foreign Credit Card with a Thai Banking app. Then use QR code payment.

On the other hand: just try several bank branches and open an account.

If an immigration officer lets you enter Thailand: is completely up to his/her decision. Visa or no visa. Completely up to him/her.

I guess most hobbyist visa experts never will graps the small differences of English language terminology applied to "staying in Thailand" - I wonder how they can do their "remote jobs" successfully? I mean if I would make the same mistakes about something as simple as this in my computer science jobs: I would be instantly out of my job.

The original announcements did not mentioned any costs for extension. As it was always clear: the cost is the same as for any other (visa) extension.

The visa type has nothing to do with it. As I explained several posts above already.

Everyone living long time in Thailand is required to have a health insurance. Does not matter if Thai, ASEAN or western country.

This is not a third world country.

The only weak point at the moment is: they enforce the requirement only for one or two visa types.

Hence your misconceptions.

Hint: Immigration law is not the same as Visa rules. There is a 130 Paragraph law book about immigration.
