You need a permanent residence yours or your wife(if married) and visa.Kasikorn Bank should accommodate you.No insurance needed decline if Bank suggests.

Note,the Baht 800:000 will need to be in a Thai Bank Account min 2 months prior to application.You seriously need to figure that out 1st.

Depends on your flight departure,the Embassy visa site give a required 5-15 days my own experience has taken 5-6 weeks Do your check ASAP.

5-15 days? The last 2 yrs ,my applications were sent to the Ottawa Canada Thailand Embassy E-Visa website 5-6 weeks prior to my flight departure.Both time I had to cancel and rebook.It need much improvement .The last time the Embassy called me at home to ask Re the date of departure,I informed the caller that I had cancelled the day prior due to not yet approved/received E-Visa,she said we are just now looking at your application (That told me they had totally F—-ed up.Application had been sent 5-6 weeks prior,hence the phone call.(They NEVER contact you at all (only email)unless other info required.When I stated this is the second yr this has happened She said ‘well’ just book another flight.Cost me $600:00 extra each yr to cancel/rebook.
