Why is the TM30 required for visa extensions in Thailand?

Just an update. Went to Satun today. Received the under consideration stamp. Only had to fill out the covid form, give passport copies and picture. No TM30 or embassy letter 🙂

Just a quick question... I’m travelling around so not renting monthly anywhere. I’m going to Trang immigration on Thursday and will be staying at a hotel there. They should register my TM30 right? And I should just print out my hotel receipt?

Perfect, thank you! Do you know how much documentation about the address will be required? At Kanchanaburi I had to do a lot of paperwork regarding my address but I know it varies

I got my first unable to travel 60 day extension from Kanchanaburi IO, however now I’m all the way down in Koh Lipe and was planning to just go to the nearest office here. Can I only get another extension from Kanchanaburi?
