yeah but with Thailand keeping people out isn’t something they realise there doing .

Thai Government twist and turns like crazy. I don’t think as an Aussie I want to spend for a visa for a year when our trips are normally /900 return ??

Vietnam Cambodia and other locations start looking promising

I’ve got no problems meeting the financial requirements. I was just never interested in a permanent move to Thailand .. it was my ambition to “explore Europe from a Thai base” as often fares are way lower from Bangkok

also katrin ( forgot to mention ) the Thai visa agent said the retirement visa was only good for 1 years

that was the most tiring thing ive ever done (iPhone application)… failed several days in a row.

But I was on vacation in Europe, so it’s difficult to think about looking for visa agents ..

I also forgot to mention that while in Thailand I did go to 2 visa agents and they said 29,000 baht retirement visa . The second one was also a crazy amount.

“I’m working part time and have no intention of retiring in Thailand”. Just stopping over at every oppurtunity as I’ve done for 13 years... I just travel a lot and used it as a stepping stone to European vacations.

Also Looking online at the “Thai e visa site”, I was under the impression tourist visa would have been adequate

thanks Luigi .. the stress of trying to complete an application on an iPhone and not knowing the correct steps required in the visa process, wasn’t easy, and it was doing my head in over the past couple of weeks

I think that guys in Thailand may buy shares in businesses.. like quarter partnerships

exactly.. it was several days of one attempt after another to try fit and fix photos and documents into the visa application categories , while it kept flagging everything . 3 megapixel photos, when your phones at 3.6…

mate I understand.. unfortunately having suffered brain inflammation cfs/fibromyalgia and nearing 70 . I used the wrong words while asking my question. Some of us struggle to get the correct wording out

I already purchased a return trip from Athens back to Thailand..but the immigration people at the airport pulled me up and said I needed a visa on my next visit
