So, it's pointless to ask questions of immigration? Give me a break. You should be aware that interpretation of numerous "rules & regs" can be like the shifting sands of the Sarah. I have a the money in the bank option available, if I need it. End of story and end of debate.
This is a bit concerning & this is not the first case I have herd about this. Some IO's in other offices have got similar ideas IE disallowing the monthly income option, if the applicant cannot obtain an affidavit of income.
This is an issue with many money transfers to TH, not only with TransferWise. I only use wire transfer from my USA bank to TH and it always shows as "International Transfer". However many cannot use such a method for various reasons.
Supposedly, monthly variation in deposited amounts IS allowed for a visa based on marriage to a Thai, as long as the totals per year average 40K bht per month.
Yes. That's what I think. IE a print-out from my US bank or yearly S/S award letter amount. No problem. It was clear from the conversation that Immigr. preferred the 400 K bht lump sum method in the bank. Much less paper work.
Why would you want an "O-A" visa, which requires insurance, when you already have an "O" visa, which does not. If you plan on staying here long-term, the insurance clock will be ticking.
