Yesterday, I did my 90 day report at my local office. They have a special desk set aside for this purpose, which is convenient. No “TM” questions or issues were raised. Since I plan to change my extension from retirement to marriage next year, I asked about the requirements. A few months ago, they gave my wife a print-out in Thai, which covered the marriage documentation.
My questions this time regarded the financial requirements, since I will be using the monthly deposits to a Thai bank. Thai bank docs are fairly straight-forward. What was of interest was the officers comments indicating that they wanted documentation re: the deposit of such funds to my American bank. Reference was made to a “Guarantee Letter”. What this consists of was not made clear. She showed me some examples of files that were an inch thick. So, I will be making further inquiries later. No insurance issues, since I have an “O” Visa.

no idea what they're talking about. I'd say LONG before you need to get the extension find out from them what they really want, because the last thing you need to do is find out then not have enough time left before your extension to get the document..
Yes. That's what I think. IE a print-out from my US bank or yearly S/S award letter amount. No problem. It was clear from the conversation that Immigr. preferred the 400 K bht lump sum method in the bank. Much less paper work.
