OK. Thanks for clarifications.I think many Thais, as well as myself were not aware of the 2 day rule. I should tell my wife to get her passport renewed/updated, if the need should arise.

Is your wife Thai? She is required to show a passport to go to Laos? Or is that some specific requirement for the type of visa U were getting?
Dan ******
Yes indeed. There was an article about this situation on Thai Visa (not Thai Visa Advise) a day or so ago. Where one IO told an American he could not do a monthly deposit extension, only lump sum. The office boss later corrected this. I think it was Phuket.

Nit-picking. Fortunately, U were able to save the day from a total waste.

Yes. Many fall through the cracks because their transfers do not meet the exact requirements. If they do, immigration is supposed to accept the monthly transfer method. They may not like it, because it is more work for them to review than the "lump sum" method.

In general, it is preferred that such deposits be recorded as "international transfer". I think things might get complex when there are income deposits from several sources. My local office IO also made a reference to wanting to see the source of such funds, back in USA, presumably retirement income. Best to ask the local IO's to get as clear an answer as possible.
