I searched here, did not find the list, so I will post. I will be going to Chaengwattana to apply for a 1 year extension based on marriage. I will bring: marriage cert, thai bank statement showing 40k+ monthly deposits, a screenshot of my TM30 done online, copy of my wife's ID card and house book, my passport with TM6, my 2x2 photo. Anything else? I assume I get the form from the copy shop downstairs. Is it the same form you fill out for a 1 month extension? Lastly, does my wife need to go there with me to drop off this stuff, or only when I pick it up 30 days later, or both? Many thanks for your guidance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquires about the required documents for a 1-year extension based on marriage at Chaengwattana. They plan to present their marriage certificate, bank statements, a TM30 screenshot, copies of their wife's ID, house book, passport with TM6, and a photo. Comments suggest additional documents may be needed, including photos of the couple at their residence and a hand-drawn map. Clarifications about financial requirements indicate a possible issue with banks statements being accepted, emphasizing that the wife must accompany the applicant during the submission but not during the pick-up.

and we're done. Good Luck (y)

One set perhaps if you apply in the main immigration HQ in BKK, otherwise 2 sets as one set gets sent there. :)

and it appears that we're no closer to the answer. I can assure you there is NO policy change and you CAN use monthly income method to meet the financial requirements for extensions based on marriage, raising kids, and retirement.

IF you run into an officer that won't let you, tell them you want to appeal and push it further up the food chain. Hold your ground, don't take shit off them, be polite but firm.

did so yesterday, no problem, no need to push it--Hua Hin (NOT Bluport)

This is a bit concerning & this is not the first case I have herd about this. Some IO's in other offices have got similar ideas IE disallowing the monthly income option, if the applicant cannot obtain an affidavit of income.

My spelling mistake Sahara

So, it's pointless to ask questions of immigration? Give me a break. You should be aware that interpretation of numerous "rules & regs" can be like the shifting sands of the Sarah. I have a the money in the bank option available, if I need it. End of story and end of debate.

Did not read about this, but you can always ask to speak a higher ranked officer of file an appeal. The posts I read about monthly transfers not accepted is that the person was thinking an monthly average would be okay or some months are not international transfers.

at chaengwattana now.. they said must have 400k in bank, or embassy letter. US embassy doesn't give letters anymore. I have the bank statement showing 40k+ every month, they said ONLY 400k will get the extension. They are not accepting bank statements anymore? Who can I talk to? They just sent us away.

I hope the OP will report back as to the outcome.
Robert *******
Yes, you can. just go back, if you have the same lady again and she tells you the same story, ask her for the forms to appeal her decision or a higher ranked officer to over rule her decision.

it is or an old flyer but for certain not a correct flyer.

So if she is right, as it is written on this flyer, how are people with non-letter issuing embassies using the 40k method at all?
Tod *********
So my question to you is DID you have 40K baht a month transferred in to a thai bank account in your name only for the previous 12 months?
Tod *********
that's not correct AND if your bank wrote the letter showing ONLY the 40K baht minimum monthly transfers from abroad into your thai bank account they should have taken it.
Tod *********
you need to show 12 months of 40K baht a month being transferred into your thai bank account

photos of you and your wife standing in front of your address sign for your place, photos of you two sitting inside the house, a hand drawn map of the area around your house.

Don't forget to update the bank book on the date you are applying for the extension

Your wife needs to be there when you apply but in 30 days she doesn't need to go back with you when you show back up to get the year extension inked in.

Thanks a bunch, Tod! So they need the bank statement and the bank book. I'll do that downstairs at the bank when I get the form and make copies. What time is the latest I can get an afternoon queue number? I'll likely be arriving while they are on lunch.

You needs BOTH marriage certificates the rose bordered one and the one that looks like a form in thai, they MIGHT ask for a copy of your affidavit of freedom to marry document from your consulate and the translation you used to get married, also take your lease or if you own the place take the chanote and the house book.
