Any US citizens here who have recent experience renewing (in Bangkok) one year extension for Non-O for Retirement using bank transfer history? Last year I had a letter from the embassy but of course that’s no longer done so wondering what others have experienced. Thx!

TLDR : Answer Summary
This post discusses the experience of US citizens in Bangkok who are renewing their one-year Non-O visa for retirement using bank transfer history. Key points include the necessity of providing a Thai bank letter detailing incoming international funds, demonstrating consistent monthly income of at least 65,000 THB, and having both a verification letter from the bank and a recent bank statement on hand. Contributors share insights on variations in immigration office requirements and the importance of clear documentation.

You CAN use monthly income method of transferring in a minimum of 65K baht a month each month, every month from abroad into your thai bank account in your name only to get a yearly extension of stay at Chaengwattana. You need EVERY transaction to show on your bank book as having came from overseas, you need a bank letter that lists the international deposits for the previous year AND you need the "regular bank letter" (like you'd use for banked money method) as well PLUS you need to update your bank book on the date you apply for the extension. The two bank letters can be no older than 7 days.

I renewed mine last August and provided signed photocopies of my Bangkok Bank Passbook for the full year as well as a bank statement covering that year and a certification of my balance as at the day before my application was lodged.

if you use monthly income method: you need to show at least 12 months of monthly foreign deposits into a Thai bank account on your name of minimum 65.000 Thb a month.

You bring your bank book and your bank can and must make a letter showing the 12 months with date of deposit, international transfer and amount.

Maybe you should also tell where you go to apply, it could be a little difference between a successful application from an American in Had Yai immigration office and if you show up with the same documents, it could be sorry sir but we like to see this and that document in Chang Mai. Cities are just examples

I do international wire transfers monthly.

In general, it is preferred that such deposits be recorded as "international transfer". I think things might get complex when there are income deposits from several sources. My local office IO also made a reference to wanting to see the source of such funds, back in USA, presumably retirement income. Best to ask the local IO's to get as clear an answer as possible.

Your Thai bank will provide a letter and a monthly breakdown of your incoming money.

I’ve seen in some forums people saying they were denied extension due to Embassy affidavits no longer being issued for US.
