I believe you are correct in the fact I will have to start the process from scratch, my terminology of switching is misguilding but I can apply for a retirement visa with the sufficient funds been in my bank for nearly a year now and have residence in Thailand and over the age of 55

I am on a marriage Non O visa which requires me to leave the country every 90 days hence I want to transfer to a Retirement visa (I qualify) but I was concerned would I lose any of my existing visa days on my current visa

I think it has been answered by other members in this post but thank you for your reply

@Brian *******
It states 40k for a married person and 65k for a single person but each immigration office dictates their own rules especially the paperwork required for a marriage visa so I am using an agent for simplicity and avoid all that red tape

Airports use sniffer dogs all the time for hand luggage and bags in the hold

Is it worth having all that cash confiscated for non declaration?

@Graham *****
My visa is valid for 1 year with the conditions exiting the country every 90 days so I believe you would call it Non O 90 day visa

It was obtained in Savanakhet Laos before they changed the financial requirements
