I've been with Bangkok Bank for years my account was not one that was frozen so it's easy for me to not be upset. But I do understand your anger and I do feel it's justified but the people at the bank are really not the ones that fault they're just the ones that have to deal with the customers. Unfortunately they have to take the heat
Foreigners can't get a yellow book unless they own a condo same goes with a pink card they're issued hand in hand. I really can't see this becoming a industry requirement but if in fact it does it will definitely affect many many people
Yes and they have said that's how it will be from now on you have to go to the bank and get them to issue you a statement showing that it came in from outside the country. Not sure what the point of that was but not much anyone can do
these offices operate so independently they make up their own rules. Ridiculous they can't all go by the written rule so that we know exactly what we need regardless of where we're going to do the extensions but that'll never happen
this depends a lot on which office you're dealing with you can go on the app and they will send you a statement of the last 12 months in PDF form which you can print out and use. The problem is it's been reported and I know of one person that was able to use this after he had it printed out as is as it showed the 12 months of activity. I have also read about a couple other people who they insisted at immigration the printout stamped with a bank stamp I guess it's an official stamp of sorts.
The immigration in Pattaya was the one that took it straight from the app without having to have a seal from the bank or a stamp. Not sure where the others tried it and immigration insisted on the bank stamp
probably explains it but I do know somebody that lives in my condo complex that opened his account in 2003 and they did indeed freeze his account so who really knows?
I've had a k bank account for 15 years trouble free love the app easy to use. But I have also had a Bangkok bank account for 22 years and unlike others having issues I have been trouble free there as well. I'm here on a non-immigrant o retirement extension
that's what I have done when I switch from a business Visa to a retirement Visa I just put the money in the bank and let it set in a time deposit despite not getting a bunch of Interest it's always there never have any problem when retirement extension time comes around. Easier than juggling money month to month and worrying about if you had it in long enough
