yes, in your case you are correct, and lucky. After my first extension based in marriage, and with the 400k the first time, I explicitly asked if 12 consecutive months of 40k would be good for the second time, and the IO said "no", only the 400k. As I said, it all depends on the brand of hot dogs they had that morning for breakfast. YMMV.

Each regional office makes their own rules. I've obtained written requirements, at the IO, in both English and Thai, twice in a year, and the third time I showed up, two months before extension time, they said "we have new rules". This happened twice, 2019 and 2022. Buyer be aware. Also consider this, the banks cannot make a dime if all we do is send money to ourselves, then spend it. They want to have the money in their posession, as it looks good on their books.

Now that this is plastered all over FB, the IOs will be looking for you, by name, gender, marital status, current visa, intentions, IP address, device type, meta data... (they do this for a living)

Most of the USA clothes cannot be used here. LOS is a tropical humid country. Clothes here are not expensive since this area is a manufacturing hub. Also figure this, one sweats so much, one has to launder often, clothes wear out and have to be tossed away. Leather goods, like shoes, belts, and jacktes will get moldy. Books too. Appliances here are 220 VAC 50 Hz. Save yourself the trouble and leave old luggage behind.

Say, Paul, do you mind if I copy and paste this story on other groups (as needed, of course), will name you as the author for credit. There are still a few who cannot make it indelible in their hippotalamus that every country has laws that differ inmensely from others. I used to live in a country where people routinely got decapitated (for seroius crimes, and with no 9th dist court of appeals). Thanks for sharing with us this story.
