It could be an increase of security given the recent incidents in Phuket and Krabi. There is already tightened security in place at Koh Samui because of these incidents. Maybe they’re doing Bangkok also as a precaution.

Please educate yourself on Europe visa requirements then update your post. It’s misleading and flat out wrong. I’ve lived in Europe for 8 years now.

I agree with you wholeheartedly in trying to answer peoples questions in good faith. Other responses here are not very helpful, in my opinion. And I think that you are correct in stating that it’s important to travel around visiting hostels and networking to see what would be a good fit for the OP.

Of course. But surely there will be an official announcement on an official Thai website when/if this happens. Then we can all read it and take away the information we need.

Please cite your source and provide a link to this. If it’s not from a Thai government agency then move on…

Check Thailand’s rules. Many countries use the 6 month period from when you depart, not when you arrive.

The ask:thailand community, consisting of multiple Q/A groups with over 100,000 members, powers this platform. It is not an official government resource. Our members actively contribute to this resource, and while we strive for accuracy, we cannot guarantee its complete reliability. Assistance to travelers is provided as a community service.
