Hmmmmm......I guess each office can be different. No mention of the test at that website as far as a 'exchange' procedure, or whatever it really is.

You say a IDP is also needed as part of the package you submit. Is that a Pattaya-specific requirement? I do not see it mentioned on the web-site other than needing a persons DL or a IDP. I ask because while I have a valid DL fron my home country, I do not have a IDP.

Thank you for that info! There happened to be in of those inspection and registration facilities only about 3 KM from where I am living on the Darkside. My Thai landlord is now helping me thankfully. They done some inspection and processed some papers and got me an insurance policy. They told me to get Res Certificate and come back with it on Thursday and leave the truck. They will then drive it to the DLT office for me and get some process done and call me when they come back. Easy-peazy!

I am very impressed with how fast and strong the truck is. It is a 2011 Isuzu Dmax with a 2.5 intercooled turbo diesel engine, with a standatd tranny. That crazy thing sure will get down the road!
