Nongnuch Kamdee Ihave had my BOI 2 year visa now renewed 7 times and each time I bought a multiple reentry and the multiple rentry is for 2 years dated and stamped as such in my passport. SO I am correct. I didnt start out with a long term visa. I have a BOI work permit with special privilages that include fast track entry into and out of Thailand. Right now I am in Vietnam and returning to Thailand this evening and I am in the 2nd year of my 2 year visa and the 2nd year of my multiple reentry!! You obviously along with know nothing about Thailand Board of Investment visas and work permits

the retirement visa is one thing. The multiple reentry is a seperate application you apply for after you get your retirement visa. Costs around 3,800B last time I got one.

Stuart Chiverton and if you per say have a short holiday in Malaysia before the 90 days is up there is not 90 day reporting till 90 days after you arrived back from Malaysia. Then maybe you had a short holiday in Vietnam - same again 90 days start from when you arrive back in Thailand.

if your not in Thailand you do not have to do the 90 day reporting. Only if your been in thailand in the country actually are you obligated to report.

Ian Hojo By using a Thai lawyer its in their language and local. Makes a big difference. Also means you know your rights and have backup in Thailand. Also that you went to the trouble of doing that due to bad experiences in the past when all you wanted to do he was have a holiday and escape the cold. For me being here 31 years I have permanently escaped the cold - of Australia.

Ian Hojo I would have asked for a supervisor. Next time get a immigration lawyers information and card. Preferablly a Thai one. Check what your rights are as a bonafide visa holder and pay for a letter from that lawyer to be written in Thai and in English. Addressed to Thai immigration. Singally your pretty powerless against a immigration officer. With legal back up your making their job a bit more difficult and they will think twice. The more facts you have and especially if your got certified copies noterised in Thailand the less you will get bothered. Also consider coming in through different airports. You have choices of many international airports and start your holiday there.

I think whoever it was was either stupid, has never been to Thailand. Thailand is like any country when it comes to hot water. You go down the hardware or plumbing store and order it and have it fitted. They must think everyone here has just climbed down from a coconut tree.
