My rent is $200 for a 3bedroom 2bath 2carpark port. If you want to be fancy and be a dumb tourist sure $2800 is not enough if you want to go to the local market 4times a month eat out 2-4 times a week have a reasonable car and not drink yourself to sleep every night you should be fine. Get a gym membership get some hobbies make some friends that are not capitalizing on a tourism type of business and you should be living pretty in my humble opinion of living here for 5 years making a range of 1K-3k per month. Btw my father is retired here and he was living on retirement and social around what you have easily with him and his GF. So you come in you be observant you shop local you eat at local spots which taste just as good as the tourist restaurants and ultimately you get what you pay for πŸ’―πŸ«‘

My suggestion is to buy a refundable ticket to a near by country and you will burn about $20 in the cost and that is a good legal way to get by this one. You will lose about $20 in buying the refundable ticket when you get refunded the ticket back. I hope this helped.
