Mine went like this.

Just to help others learn..

TR convert to Non immigration O.

90 days. Single. 2000 baht

Non immigration O multiple entry issued to replace the single entry. 3800 baht.

Then the retirement extension of 12 months.

To the multiple entry O.

1900 baht.

Which makes the extension multiple entry too.

With 90 day reporting while in thailand.

As soon as i leave the country the 90 days period starts again.

From the day i arrive back.

Plus because its done from a multiple entry.

You dont beed a re entry permit before you leave.

1200 baht a pop.

In effect it gave me just on 15 months extension multi entry come and go as i please.

Just have to report 90 day stays..

So.

A retirement extension of 12 months or similar to the O? Ordinary.

Or something else?

Thats makes you have to leave and not just report?

I'm still learning about all this.

Probably a dumb question.

I dont mind lol.

If you have a non immigration O visa.

Multiple entry..

Is it not only valid for 90 days?

And why leave the country?

Am i missing something?

In the translation.

An O 90 days multiple entry would let you come and go as many times as you like in the 90 days.

If you get a re entry permit before you leave.

The 90 day multi is like 3800

The single 90 day is 2000.

What am i missing in this?

Still Cannot see the value in a multi entry from Oz.

I've always used singles up to getting my retirement extension recently.

Some countries yes... works ok.

At about 6750 baht you can do a fair bit with your single entry plus extension.

Plus you can jump out and come back with equivalent length of stay.

Possibly cheaper?

I'm not doing the exact maths.

But $55 for a single plus a 30 day extension for 1900 baht.

With a multiple entry you have the above.

Have to leave.

Choice or planned.

Come back.

Not forgetting a re entry permit before you leave.1200 at any international airport.

I know if you have to have a intended break out of LOS a multi sounds like a good idea.

But its only valid for six months...

Our honorary consul in Melbourne and his family are hiking prices up.

Plus you have limited options for visas.

And you have to wait two days.

Sadly, this person seems to think that profanity and obscene language are the norm.

Im surprised they have not been removed from Facebook.

(Trying to incite people to attack someone)

Definitely not needed in this happy group. 😄

I see the Melbourne form is now revised.

But I used it in September and travelled in October.

Had heaps of them.

But no third degree.

I did put my Thai address down and details of the last three visas.

My 60 day TR is currently being changed to a non immigration O.

Bangkok.

Then the 12 month extension grant is applied to that.

Gives me 15 months..

Over 50 retirement grant.

BTW... if anyone is looking at this avenue.

You don't need 800,000 baht in a Thai account.

A letter from your embassy stating you have equivalent funds in your country suffices.

2000 baht for the letter though...

You can also do a cheaper booking to an adjoining location.

And just blow the minimal outlay.

What I have done ( to explain. )

Is book a Thai airways flight the day I'm leaving to go somewhere else the next day..

They obviously know it's just plugging a loophole.

You get 24 hours to pay or it drops out of the system.

Airlines check in ties into immigration now.

They can see the iata Amadeus six digit code.

That's why (in Australia) they check your passports now.

Same UK I think?

And you walk straight past passport control.

I know it's going electronic and picks up the biometric information.

My partner had to have all her biometrics entered in Bangkok a few weeks ago.

No more visa stickers Thailand to Australia.

The e gates are also getting aligned slowly, in more countries.

The consulates make up some petty self rules.

They are honorary positions. With a few paid staff.

But you will not find them in the official Thai immigration manuals.
