How can I resolve a misunderstanding about my Non O Visa stay duration at the Thailand border?

I am just returning from Laos, I have a Non O Visa, multiple entry. I had to do my normal 90 day leave Thailand trip. On returning to Thailand after a couple of days in Vientiane, I entered Thailand. Got back onto my bus for Nong Khai. But I forgot to check my dates for the length of my stay, ah always 90 days. Oh oh checked only got 30 days, not the usual 90 days.

So I got off the bus and went back into the border crossing to see the officer.

It always pays to check your dates.

If it is not correct, smile and explain to the Immigration officer.

He fixed and altered the date to 90 Days, and he apologized too !

Thank You Nong Khai Border Crossing.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user shared their experience of mistakenly receiving a 30-day stay instead of the usual 90 days upon re-entering Thailand with a Non O Visa, multiple entry. After realizing the mistake, they returned to the border officer who corrected the duration with a smile. This prompted comments from the community emphasizing the importance of checking visa details and mentioning that immigration officers can make mistakes too. The conversation evolved to discuss the nuances of the Non O Visa, including its one-year validity with 90-day stay limits per entry and the difference between a visa and an extension of stay.

Probably a dumb question.

I dont mind lol.

If you have a non immigration O visa.

Multiple entry..

Is it not only valid for 90 days?

And why leave the country?

Am i missing something?

In the translation.

An O 90 days multiple entry would let you come and go as many times as you like in the 90 days.

If you get a re entry permit before you leave.

The 90 day multi is like 3800

The single 90 day is 2000.

What am i missing in this?

Hi, it is confusing.

The multiple entry refers to the O Visa which is for One Year.

But , I have to leave Thailand every 90 Days.

They then give me a new exit date,90 days.

Tod Daniels posted a fantastic explanation of O Visa types, check it out !

Hope that helps. It is easy once you understand how it works.

Tod and this site is your best tool to understand a get accurate and friendly help !

Asean is a little bit different than the Asia Pacific rim.

APEC now comprises 21 member economies: Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, People's Republic of China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Republic of South Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Republic of the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Chinese Taipei (Taiwan), Thailand, the United States, and Vietnam.

Okay, sorry i did not know that USA and Canada changed location and now are part of Asian. Good for you it worked out.
Jonn *********
You can still get this.

From any of the nember countries if you can show a work need.
Jonn *********
It was brilliant for me when working in China and Japan and Korea.

Asia Pacific rim
Jonn *********
Yes.

USA and Canada are in now
Robert *******
There are only 18 countries mentioned on your picture and I guess CHL is Chili, MEX is Mexico and PER is Peru not really 20 countries in Asia.

Expired so no need to block any information..

When i was working full time.

I was fortunate enough to have the APEC card.

90 days priority clearance for 20 countries in the Asia Pacific rim.

Work allowed too.

USA and Canada are now on board too.

You can still get it if you are working.

And adding financial benefits to the region.

Its good for 10 years now.

But harder to get.

$200 one time payment.

Worth looking into if anyone is interested in and works as well as having Thailand interests.

Sadly i couldn't get my up line management to sign off in time.

Before i was packaged out.

We have an Apple called a Visa and we we have a Peer called Extension of Stay. If you want to mix the requirements and regulations we have a fruit juice. If you want to know, what you have to do with the juice, there is no good advice. Look in your passport, when it is a sticker obtained by embassy or consulate or a stamp with the text Non O Visa talk about a visa, when it is a stamp obtained from local Immigration starting with the text: Extension of Stay call it Extension of Stay.

and yes, 90 days fresh on every reentry no extra permits required on a standard multiple entry non-o either
Andrew *******
@David ******
yes you're on an extension, not a non-0 VISA obtained at a Thai embassy or consulate outside of Thailand. So in the case of me or the poster here it's unlimited 90-day entries over the course of the year, actually valid for 15 months if you make your last entry just before the VISA expires. I travel frequently so it's not an issue for me, and acquiring the VISA in Los Angeles costs 5,000 baht, requires only a copy of my marriage certificate, letter from my wife and bank statement showing a $700 minimum balance.

Mine went like this.

Just to help others learn..

TR convert to Non immigration O.

90 days. Single. 2000 baht

Non immigration O multiple entry issued to replace the single entry. 3800 baht.

Then the retirement extension of 12 months.

To the multiple entry O.

1900 baht.

Which makes the extension multiple entry too.

With 90 day reporting while in thailand.

As soon as i leave the country the 90 days period starts again.

From the day i arrive back.

Plus because its done from a multiple entry.

You dont beed a re entry permit before you leave.

1200 baht a pop.

In effect it gave me just on 15 months extension multi entry come and go as i please.

Just have to report 90 day stays..
Andrew *******
It's a 1year multiple entry non-o visa, not an extension, you can't report on a visa, have to leave
Jonn *********
So.

A retirement extension of 12 months or similar to the O? Ordinary.

Or something else?

Thats makes you have to leave and not just report?

I'm still learning about all this.
Andrew *******
It's a 1 year unlimited entry visa but each entry is 90 days max
Andrew *******
Yeah happened to me once in Chong Mek and easily fixed... Always check your stamp!
Danny ****
hello can i ask for something ?
Robert *******
Best to ask something by making a new post.
Andrew ******
Well, its the land of smiles! ! 555
Robert *******
How strange is may sound to many: Immigration Officers are just human beings and can make mistakes doing their job. Glad you found out in time.

Thanks Kenny Riley. Shows you should always check and if incorrect easily amended with a smile!
