No you do not need insurance for the above scenario. Insurance is needed for non O-A or non O visa obtained in Canada.

Hi I do not have an answer ,but perhaps you can answer me.I am Canadian as well,on Vancouver Thai consulate site it says that applicant for non O visa must have

0 USD insurance coverage for One Year.My impression is that non O visa is only for 90 days.(on the site it does not say anything about the length of stay in Thailand,I found out somewhere else about 90 days.)Can you please tell me for how long did your husband get his non O visa based on retirement from Canada?Thank you
