I got my wife over on visitors visa a couple of times - successfully. She's now here on spose visa. Difficult for them to settle as culture is very different. Immigration officer will be looking at how she is paying for the trip and does she have a reason to return to Thailand. I used an agent who was very good.

I thought that you specifically cannot use income earned in Thailand, needs to be coming from overseas, pension etc.? Please tell me if this has changed?

I had similar problems when I last moved to Thailand in 2018. I was living in Hua Hin and nobody wanted to open an account for me. I tried a bit of a trick, went into Krungskri Bank in one of the Malls and told them that I was in the previous week and was told if I bring my passport with Visa and a copy of lease they would open account for me. It worked because they opened the account immediately.

62k in the bank will be because of the income shortfall. Nearly impossible for the average person to bring spouse on partner visa now, only if you are rich can you do it. Really not fair
