The e visa system will give you a number of companies that meet the O-A requirements. AXA is one that is quoted, you can choose your deductible to manage the cost which is quite reasonable
you get 90 days to use your visa, so as long as you enter thailand within those 90 days yiu will get stamped in for 60 days on a tourist visa or 90 days on a type O retirement visa. It sounds like your good to go !!
Remember thai banks only guarantee 1 million baht if they get into financial trouble so I would be more worried about that and would there fore spread my money over multiple accounts than worry about a tiny amount of tax on the interest
i was applying for a non O retirement visa for thailand, I already live in the uk. The requirements are usually in your own currency and I submitted 3 months statements to show income have the funds. I am sure if you are applying to thailand from the uk you can show USA banked funds
Where are you located? I have just applied for non o through UK embassy, they typically take no longer than a week? You can get into thailand on visa exempt if you qualify although will find it very difficult to open a bank account without a long term visa
to extend your non O over 50 retirement visa you dont need health insurance ( although sensible for your own peace of mind) and you dont need a criminal check!!.
agree I have now got a yearly prepaid sim which i use each time I am back in thailand from ais so I don't need to get one at the airport any longer I just switch my sim over from uk to thai
