You can just fly here and get a free 60 day visa exempt, no need to apply for a visa.

Just show up and they stamp you for 60 day then you can go to immigration and apply for an extension for 1900baht

 you can convert your TR visa to a non O but you will need a bank account first, maybe use an agent to open one for you
