Herein lies the problem and I’m afraid it’s only going to get worse. So many unscrupulous visa holders in Thailand lately committing crimes. Many from China, Russia and S. Korea. Almost daily there are scammers, drug dealers and illegal business owners being arrested from these specific countries.

The new Thai government under Anutin has ordered Thai immigration to ramp up their efforts to weed out the riff raff from entry and re-entry. I’ve even heard the DTV is going away because so many have abused it. And is also why they are changing the tourist visa on entry back to 30 days.

Way too many visitors have abused their privileges for too long and the Thai government is cracking down.

Regardless of how legitimate your documents are, you’ve been caught in the current net of pushback. You might have to hire a lawyer to sort this out. Good luck! 🙏🏻

Vicky Gardner Rosser, hi cousin! That’s an entirely separate issue than the OP’s question, though. I don’t legally own the land or our house. On paper my wife does, but anyone else can be legally named in the tabien baan (yellow book). Plus, one doesn’t need to “own” property to open a bank account. You just have to have the proper visa. 😉

I have a BKK Bank, SCB, UOB and Krungsri accounts for 13 years. Never had an issue with any of them — even at multiple branches where I didn’t open the account. 🧐

Researched Opinion , been banking with Bangkok Bank for 13 years. Never had any problems. 🤷‍♂️
