Unfortunately, our cooking school is based in Chiang Mai, not Khao Lak. But if you ever plan a trip up north, we’d be happy to welcome you to our classes. Wishing you the best of luck in finding a great program that fits your plans 🙏😊

Here’s a simple guide for your family applying for DTV Visa in Malaysia:

1️⃣ Husband – Main Applicant (DTV Visa)

Passport + 2” photo

Completed DTV application form

Bank statement 500,000 THB (must be in his account for at least 3 months)

Any extra documents requested by the consulate

This account can cover the whole family – no need for separate funds for wife or kids.

2️⃣ Wife – Dependent Visa

Passport + 2” photo

Completed Dependent Visa form

Marriage Certificate (translated to English if needed)

Copy of husband’s DTV visa

Copy of husband’s bank statement

3️⃣ Children – Dependent Visa

Passport + 2” photo

Completed Dependent Visa form for each child

Birth Certificate (translated if needed)

Copy of husband’s DTV visa

Copy of husband’s bank statement

✅ Quick tips

Only the main applicant needs the 500,000 THB

Always attach proof of relationship (marriage/birth certificates)

You can apply all visas together or submit Dependents after the main applicant’s visa is approved

For your situation, both freelance/professional and business owner DTV categories are possible. For future LTR/PR, the business owner route usually looks stronger as it shows economic contribution. Given the uncertain situation at the Thailand–Cambodia border, it’s generally safer to apply from Vietnam or Laos. Make sure all business and tax documents are complete.

Just to share from my experience: our cooking school is in Chiang Mai, and we’ve helped students with the DTV visa process. One of our students from the UK applied at the Thai Embassy in the UK and got approved. The whole process took about 2 weeks.

Hopefully this gives a bit of insight for anyone planning to apply. Happy to answer factual questions about the process!
