then what’s the problem. Americans get visa exemption for 60 days with option to extend for an additional 30 which if you’re only staying a few weeks no need t extend.
If you’re leaving and coming back a couple of months later, not doing border hops then you don’t need a visa at all!
Yes, I carry medical insurance anyway, but, the only thing that may be of benefit would be the work permit, not that I plan on actually working but I have considered starting a small business for my Thai family, (wife and two children, now 15 and 17) so they can earn a living and learn about running a business. I would only be in an advisory role but in Thailand under the Retirement Visa, even that is actually illegal.
I will be marrying a Thai woman in a few months, but I’m already here on a retirement visa. I have been wondering if there’s any benefit “for me” to renew as a O for Marriage after marriage. The only thing I see is it lowers the financial income requirement but I’m not really worried about that.
