Preparing to go to the Thai Embassy here in Hanoi to get a tourist visa for Thailand. Looking over the needed documents, can anyone clarify what the mean by "a certified true copy", as in this statement? And if it means I have to have some type of certification done, anyone know who, or where I can have this done?

"All personal documents (e.g., copy of identity card, passport, work permit, Thai house registration, etc.) shall be certified true copy, signed and dated by the owner of the documents."

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on the requirement for a 'certified true copy' of personal documents when applying for a tourist visa at the Thai Embassy in Hanoi. Multiple comments suggest different methods for certification, such as signing and dating copies themselves, getting notarization from an authorized person, or specific procedures like signing in front of an immigration officer. The conversation also hints at potential visa exemptions and related experiences.

Yes, Phil...I got banned for life for correcting them regarding the Australian Aged Pension's advice. They claimed I was abusive which was not true but just facts as stated on Centrelink's website. But they don't like being corrected even if they are wrong. Their advice was way incorrect. I'm not a bit sorry, I'm now banned. (Forever) Amen.

Do what they are asking you to do. Sign and date all copies.

It has to be certified signed and dated as a true copy by an authorised person

Still sentences like

“awaiting Cabinet approval”

“to be signed”

“will be publiced”

So hold your horses.

Thanks Phil! Gosh, I remember reading this somewhere and had forgotten all about it.

My fear though is, will the Embassy here know about it?! 😂

You know SE Asia! News travels on 🐂! Thanks though!

Print off the documents then write I certify this to be a true copy and sign and date them.

Not sure if this is interesting for you but it might be that you can get a 60 day visa exempt, starting on Monday.

no one knows if it will be possible to apply for an extension on a 60 day visa exempt though. So if you know you want 90 days a tourist visa is still the safe bet

Oops... my bad... didn't see he wants 90 days...
