Thanks for the update, it's a cool thing to do in Savannakhet for expats married to a Thai wife. . . .By the way, it's a consulate, not an embassy. At the Thai embassy in Vientiane, the process is different and you would have to show the financials
at the Royal Thai Savannakhet Consulate you do not have to show 400.000.- THB funds, when you apply for the multi entry Non-Imm-O family visa. However if you apply at the Royal Thai Embassy Vientiane for the same, you need to show the funds. That's why many Expats married to a Thai wife use the ROYAL THAI CONSULATE in Savannakhet (it's not an "embassy"), and to my knowledge I think the Royal Thai Consulate Ho Chi Minh City also still doesn't ask for the financials
"till Feb 2024 i'll need a new re-entry visa" . . .So much to the terminology: the stamp is a "re-entry permit", not a re-entry visa. And you are obviously on an "extended stay permit", not on a "retirement O visa" as there is nothing such
your post doesn't make much sense. Are you on a Non-O retirement visa or on an extension based on retirement? And why would you need two single re-entry permits for one and the same, be it a visa or an extension?
you can renew a Thai Driving License until one year after the expiry date. Actually, if you renew it 3-4 weeks AFTER your birthday, which should be the expiry date, you will get 5 years and 11 months validity on your renewed license
