No AIA does not accept DTV, there are other companies that will accept DTV as well as AXA and Genki, such as Aprll and LMG. All these policies (with the exception of Genki) can be purchased directly on the CheckDi price comparison site, no need to go through an agent.

Looks like Krungsri Central Festival in Chiangmai are sick & tired of tourists asking to open bank accounts. I would change the notice to say the following: “Yes the fee is xxx to withdraw from this machine if you have an overseas card. No you can’t avoid this fee by opening a bank account, so please don’t hold up the queue in our branch by trying, you are only wasting our time and your own”. 😊

Also have a look at the CheckDi price comparison site, there are few insurers on here offering policies for DTV.

AXA do a policy called Essential Care, popular for DTV holders. (A lot of the other insurers don’t accept DTV). No need to go through an agent with this policy and can buy it directly online.

AIA don’t accept DTV, AXA would be your best choice, can buy directly online, no need to go through a broker.

They will not ask you for proof of insurance as it’s not a requirement, but for DTV holders Genki is a popular one.
