@James *************
depends but the main Bangkok bank said they wanted both so rather than waste my time going back and forth I jsut took both. Even if you’re staying in a hotel you can just take a letter from the hotel saying how long you’re there for. They told us that last month when I took a colleague to open one

Hi James I’m a U.K. qualified financial adviser who lives here and also has a Bangkok bank account

The easiest place is the corporate headquarters in Silom

Huge place and if you go walk down the banking hall turn right at the end there’s a big place for accounts etc

All you need is a certified copy of your passport which you can get from the embassy, book the appointment online go in and it’s done in about 15 mins, proof of residence and that’s it. You can open with a tr visa if you wish but also definitely with the retirement visa.

Choose the Mastercard option for your debit card as it has more uses than the rabbit card from memory you pay about 400 baht £10 for it.

Anything else dm me and I’ll help in anyway I can

Go to Bangkok bank the Silom complex one it’s the main one.

You won’t have any problem there at all just go in through the main banking hall and go to the far left

People are right they do tend to make it up in each branch. Go to the Bangkok bank in Silom complex

Yes you will need your passport certified by your embassy.

Then you’ll be fine

@Hza ******
yes you can do an Ed visa, but an stv was a good idea in principal but they didn’t think it through and then when people found out you couldn’t convert it there’s no point in them
Neil *********
also if you have an stv you can’t convert it to anything else so you have to leave and re-enter
